Initiatives improving healthcare accessibility and affordability, case rates, and expanded Z packages to reduce out-of-pocket expenses for Filipinos lauded by PHA's Dr. Jose Santiago

The Philippine Hospital Association (PHA) commends PhilHealth for its recent initiatives to improve healthcare accessibility and affordability, including increased case rates and expanded Z packages that reduce out-of-pocket expenses for Filipinos.
While there have been mixed reactions to healthcare developments in various media, PHA acknowledges the positive impacts of recent legislative, DOH, and PhilHealth measures. However, PHA maintains its apolitical stance and these commendations should not be interpreted as political endorsements.
Regarding the P59.6 billion in unliquidated accounts, PhilHealth is actively working with PHA and member hospitals to address these concerns. We encourage focusing on PhilHealth's current positive initiatives that benefit all stakeholders.
PHA emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts among lawmakers, policymakers, and organizations to address the nation's healthcare needs. We acknowledge the DOH's crucial role in supporting healthcare initiatives and their effective partnership with PhilHealth.
We appreciate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration's commitment to improving healthcare services. PHA remains dedicated to constructive engagement and supporting our shared mission of providing better healthcare to Filipino communities.
Sincerely,
Jose P. Santiago, Jr, M.D.
President - Philippine Hospital Association
