Expanded Coverage for Heart Surgeries by PhilHealth

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC - PhilHealth) has announced its expanded coverage for heart surgeries.

According to PhilHealth Circular 2025-0004, the Z-benefits package for open heart surgeries are available for all Filipinos who meet the clinical criteria detailed here.

Some of the illnesses covered by this includes:

• Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) - now up to Php 960,000

• Closure of ventricular septal defect (VSD) - with coverage up to Php 614,000

• Total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) - now up to Php 810,000

PHIC posted, "These initiatives reinforce PhilHealth's commitment to making essential healthcare serices more accessible to all Filipinos, in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s thrust to expand access to medical care for all communities."
