The Philippine Pharma & Healthcare Expo 2025
The Philippine Pharma & Healthcare Expo 2025
Address to the Philippine Pharma & Healthcare Expo
by Dr. Jose P. Santiago, Jr.
President - Philippine Hospital Association
It’s an honor to be here today among fellow leaders, innovators, and advocates of healthcare. As President of the Philippine Hospital Association, representing over 2,000 government and private hospitals across the country, I see firsthand the challenges and opportunities in our healthcare system. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that no hospital, no company, and no institution can do it alone.
This expo is more than just a showcase of the latest medical breakthroughs or pharmaceutical advancements—it’s a space where partnerships take shape. The reality is, hospitals are only as strong as the ecosystem that supports them. We rely on pharmaceutical companies for life-saving medicines, on technology providers for better patient care solutions, and on policymakers to create an environment where healthcare can thrive.
But let’s be real—there’s still a gap. Many of these innovations don’t always reach the hospitals and patients who need them most. That’s why events like this are so important. It’s not just about new products; it’s about making sure those products reach the right people, in the right way, at the right time.
So as we go through this expo, let’s think beyond business deals. Let’s ask ourselves: How can we create sustainable partnerships that make a real impact? How can we ensure that the advancements we see here don’t just stay in convention halls but actually change lives in hospitals and communities?
On behalf of the Philippine Hospital Association, I want to thank the organizers and all participants for making this event possible. Let’s make the most of it — not just for our industries, but for the people who depend on us every single day.
Allow me to share you two takeaways for this session:
Collaboration drives positive change. I agree with [Johnny Chotrani - chairman of the Philippines-India Business council) that equitable healthcare is a shared responsibility.
Equitable and accessible healthcare can be pursued. collaborate, innovate, and advocate. Together, we can build a future - healthier and brighter for all Filipinos.
Mabuhay tayong lahat!
